Beard Blade is a 2D platformer inspired by classic titles from the 16-bit era. Branson’s adventure begins when a crew of thieves ransack his farm and make off into the night with his livestock. After stowing away on their parting ship, Branson finds himself stranded on a strange island littered with dangerous creatures and priceless treasure. Equipped with nothing but a shapeshifting beard, Branson sets out to reclaim his livelihood from The Smuglins and return home.

✧ Chin Up, Branson!
Early in his journey, Branson befriends a wizard named Forbeau who grants him the ability to use his lush beard as a weapon. This magic gives Branson a wide array of powers, and with repeat visits to Forbeau’s shop, he can learn even more moves as Forbeau researches new spells.
☼ Island Antics
Take a walk on the beach, punch-in at Eelixir Industries or get lost in the woods - Pimento Island has a variety of locales for you to explore. Along the way you’ll come across a cast of humorous characters, mischievous monsters and possibly even make a few friends.
☾ Day & Night
When the sun sets, levels change as new routes open up while previously accessible paths become closed off. You’ll have to look high and low both day and night if you’re hoping to find every last animal and treasure.

Cast
Branson
A hardworking, humble farmer who lives in the countryside of Pamperry Isle. He provides wool, eggs and other goods to the residents of Anchor Pointe. Though he is not much of a talker, he’s always willing to lend a hand to those in need.
Forbeau
An odd but friendly sorcerer that Branson meets aboard The Smuglins’ ship. His magic is limited and he can only use his spells to influence others by enhancing their traits or personalities - albeit with some strange side-effects. He helps out Branson on his quest by concocting spells that expand the effects of his enchantment.
Mora
An easygoing mariner, Mora makes her living from making boat repairs. During a routine check-up on the old lighthouse, she lets her guard down and is ambushed by the Smuglins. Branson steps in and gives them the boot - er, beard - and the two become quick friends. Mora knows her way around Pimento Island, so she’s sure to be a big help on Branson’s journey.
The Smuglins
These deviants are denizens of Pimento Island. The Smuglin leader Orzo (not pictured) commands this crafty crew of creeps and is responsible for the pillaging that takes place on Branson’s property, but his intentions remain unclear…
